Alan Berner is a staff photographer for the Seattle Times.
He is also one of the most exciting, interesting and undiscovered photography talents on the planet.
His work is lyrical, thoughtful, enjoyable, moving, well constructed and intelligent.
Berner the photographer has an unflinchng sense of timing and is able, seemingly, to extract the “Decisive Moment,” from the monumental or the mundane. His humor is always evident where appropriate. His human interest and concern is easily seen, from his daily newspaper work to his more extended projects.
Berner the person -I had the pleasure of spending a couple of days with him this July- is thoughtful, well read, endlessly curious and very very funny.
